Release to recieve:
Release is a word often used in yoga, the letting go of physical tension within the body. Freeing the mind of chatter and moving stored emotional blockages.
The asanas and pranayama moving things quietly that may have laid dormant within our tissues subconsciously over time. Opening up of ourselves and surrendering the narrative can bring up feelings unexpectedly, and sometimes this isn’t all peace and love.
As painful as this may be, when we release something we are creating space for new and fresh feelings and this is exciting! In many traditions this is linked to Shunyata (emptiness) not in a negative sense but a clearing out of old patterns (Samskaras) to welcome in true knowledge of ourselves (Vidya).
You cannot hold something new if your hands are already full

This week in our practise we explore releasing and receiving. The Happy Genie Yoga classes are Mondays at 7pm and Wednesdays at 10am. Everyone welcome just as you are ♥️
